A pupil of the great Claire Martin OBE, Fleur Stevenson has a voice that blends old fashioned charm with contemporary phrasing. Wether it’s singing classic Ella Fitzgerald, putting the blues into King Crimson or re harmonising legendary Elvis Presley hits, Fleur somehow makes the musical experience at her concerts a creative, rounded and cool affair. Lyrics are crisp and heartfelt and her band, featuring some of the UK’s top talent is always supportive yet adventurous. Fleur’s rhythm section for this show will include Pete Billington (piano), Paul Jefferies (bass) and Simon Price (drums).

There is no mistaking it - Swiss born Nicolas Meier is a truly world-class guitarist who has performed with some of the very cream of rock, ‘World' and jazz artists. He was music director for Jeff Beck for two years during Jeff’s last world tour and he is constantly performing throughout Europe and the USA with his ‘World Group’ and as a gust on many stages. So - we are delighted that Nicolas has been able to put together a band for our show in Chinnor featuring the talents of Richard Jones (violin), Spanish percussionist Demi Garcia Sabat and bassist Paul Jefferies.

Combining Folk, Blues, Soul styles with just a hint of jazziness

After graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama four years ago, Elijah has established himself as one of the UK’s most exciting male singers. Elijah released his debut EP, ‘One of Her Clowns’ in June 2023 this marked Elijah’s first foray into writing and releasing original music, fusing his love of jazz with soul, singer-songwriter and folk sensibilities. Elijah’s presence on stage is captivating and his voice moves seamlessly from Soul vibe with bluesy inflections to jazz and pop, always with an engaging sense of fun and Swing. Expect classics from the songbooks of Nat ‘King’ Cole and Mel Tormé, selections from the likes of Kurt Elling and Muse, as well as Elijah’s own writing from his debut EP and beyond. Now very much an established player on the UK scene, Pianist Eddie Gripper’s style is beautifully harmonic, matching Elijah’s powerful yet sensitive expressiveness perfectly. The other half of this excellent quartet are bassist Paul Jefferies and Euan Palmer - one of the most sensitive drummers you’ll hear at any venue this year….

You may have seen Pete Billington on TV, heard him on radio or been to concerts where he has appeared as pianist and often as music director for headliners such as ABC, Rumer, Gilbert O’Sullivan, Tony Christie and many more. A superb musician and multi-instrumentalist, it’s piano where you hear him excel and he has arranged a set of gorgeous traditional and contemporary Christmas carols / songs for a quintet of truly world class musicians - yes, appearing in a village hall near you!!! Amongst the play list will be In The Bleak Midwinter, O Holy Night, Silent Night, Little Drummer Boy and many more. On stage with Pete will be one of the UK’s favourite trumpeters - Bryan Corbett (Brand New Heavies, Beverley Night, BBC Orchestra etc); highly acclaimed tenor saxophonist and educator Fliss Gorst; jazz, rock and pop drummer Jason Reeve and the ubiquitous Paul Jefferies on double bass and bass guitar
